BN Shanthamma, a 78-year-old, who taught Rajinikanth for three consecutive years (Class 5th, 6th and 7th) at the government Model Primary School in Gavipuram in Bangalore was surprised to know one of her students has deposited Rs 3 lakhs in her bank account.

Two months ago, Rajini came to know about the hardships of his teacher and immediately contacted her to enquire about her current position. He even promised to visit her house when he comes to Bangalore the next time but didn't hint about the helping hand he is going to offer.

Shanthamma is very thankful that his student Shivaji Rao Gaikwad, i.e., Rajinikanth remembered her even after 50 years and came forward to help. "When I taught him 50 years back, Shivaji Rao was poor and very intelligent student as well. Now, he reached great heights but he hasn't changed a bit," she says.

Most of the philanthropic work done by Rajini is away from media glare and these things only see light when the beneficiaries come out in open. Hats off to Super star…
