Gone are those days, where you looked at
hero’s mother’s character, who is probably a yester-year heroine or a
struggling actress who is not finding any roles for her to get into!
Zareena, also known with her screen name Nadhiya, has become popular in
Tollywood with just two films, Mirchi and now, Attarintiki Daredi!
Interestingly, she is now known to fill in the gap for the mother roles,
as she also adds a tad of glamour to it. Yes, we have reached a point
where directors want mothers on the screen to add glamour to the film
and Nadhiya is seen doing exactly the same.
In Prabhas starrer Mirchi, she was seen
as his mother, and most of them were surprised as to how young she
looked on the screen. This continued with the latest block buster
Attarintiki Daredi, where she is seen playing the mother role of
Samantha and Praneetha and is given an important role, as the whole plot
of the Tollwood Movie is around her! Though she is famousin Tamil and Malyalam
films, she has developed a good following in Telugu as well, and
directors are seen asking for her dates to play the role oa a
mother/mother-in-law. Seems her coming into Telugu cinema gives a stiff
competition for someone like Ramya Krishna and other yester-year
heroines, who have their only hope on mother roles! Ironic, isn’t it?
