Initiative has begun to protect the
government lands in Hyderabad and the focus is mainly on vacant or
misused lands. Sources say that the move is part of an initiative taken
by Chief Commissioner of Land Administration I.Y.R. Krishna Rao to
protect government land.
A massive exercise has been launched to
survey all government lands that are vacant and have been not allotted
to anyone, as well those that have been allotted but are being misused
or are unutilised.
A partial survey has revealed that 426
acres of government land worth Rs 7,684 crore is vacant in the city.
These lands are to be immediately walled or fenced in to prevent
encroachments.
In Ranga Reddy district, 7,442 acres
allotted to various organisations have so far been surveyed of which
3,676 acres were found to be vacant. Violation of allotment conditions
were found in 922 acres.
In this regard,Veteran Director K.
Raghavendra Rao is going to lose the 2-acres of land adjacent to the
Cinemax multiplex and currently this vacant space is being used for
parking. Even though Cinemax is an illegal construction, officials
weren't focusing on it for now as resuming lands where structures have
come up isn't an easy task.
State Government is also planning to
take back the vacant lands allotted to Blue Cross (Half-Acre) run by
Akkineni Amala, Padmalaya Studios owned by Superstar Krishna, Anand Cine
Services (3 acres), Film Development Corporation (20 acres) and Human
Resources Development Institute (1,247 sq. mt) and several others. Govt.
land allotted to late music director Chakravarthy too will be recovered
soon.
