A source close to the project says, "Deepika is the front-runner for the female lead opposite Pawan in the 'Gabbar Singh' franchise. Two others next to deepika in the race are Sonakshi and Samantha. Kajal Aggarwal no longer remains in the race despite being the first choice for this movie.
