In 82 years of Telugu cinema history,
for the first time a Tollywood Movie is affected by piracy evil even before the
movie has actually hit theatres.
It took more than 50 crores to make the
movie, but culprits of piracy are selling it out for Rs 50 in various
places of Krishna district. A couple of hours back AP Police took a
couple of mobile-phone shop owners into custody in Pedana and
Jaggayyapeta of Krishna District who are said to be selling Attarintiki
Daredi piracy CDs. Acting on a tip off from a popular TV channel,
Krishna district police are working hard to drag out every culprit
invovlved in spreading these CDs wild.
More than selling CDs, few cell-phone
shops are actually copying the video of AD into pen drives directly and
some people are forwarding the video on few mobile chat applications
too. Though the news has come out today, reports say AD’s piracy CDs are
in market from last three days. Hand of a Bangalore based piracy
network is suspected in replication of CDs and spreading them across the
country.
In the 15,000 Crore worth Indian film
industry, 30% of investment is at stake due to this piracy evil every
year. But if movies are getting pirated even before the release, what is
the point in making movies and building houses of entertainment in
every town and city.
A report on the story follows like this....
